Extra Info About Dental Crowns

The procedure for crowns requires two separate appointments. The first appointment to our Spearwood Dental Surgery is for the shaping of your tooth to allow space for a crown, and then an impression of the shaped tooth is taken and sent to the dental technician.

All crowns are made at local WA dental laboratories using materials that are TGA approved.

The second appointment usually takes place around two weeks after the first appointment and it involves the placement of the finished crown.

We always keep up to date with the latest technology and materials and are now happy to offer a new type of crown called the One Visit Crown™ as an alternative to a traditional all ceramic crown. Not all teeth are suitable to have a One Visit Crown, but your dentist will assess the suitability of your tooth for this new type of crown which is strong, durable highly aesthetic and importantly more affordable!
