Dental crowns are an aesthetic solution for restoring decayed, chipped or cracked teeth, giving you great protection and a natural tooth-like appearance. Your new crown should enhance your smiles for many years, as long as the supporting tooth stays healthy. It is important that you maintain regular dental checkups over this time, so that the team at Phoenix Road Dental Surgery can address any problems at an early stage.
The procedures for crowns require 2 separate appointments. The first appointment to our Spearwood dental centre is for the shaping of your tooth to allow space for a crown and then an impression of the shaped tooth is taken and sent to the dental technician. All crowns are made at local WA dental laboratories using materials that are TGA approved. The second appointment usually takes place around 2 weeks after the first appointment and it involves the placement of the finished crown.
Dental bridges are used at our Spearwood dentist to replace missing teeth and consist of porcelain crowns supported by either the teeth or implants on either side of the missing tooth/teeth. The procedure of a dental bridge is very similar to that of the dental crown. A bridge is a very effective way to improve your smile and also improve on your eating due to missing teeth.
Veneers are thin custom made layer of porcelain that are bonded to individual teeth and can be used to change to the smile you always dream of. Veneers can be used to change the colour, shape, positioning and close spacing of the teeth.
